Lifting Precautions
Before beginning any lift, check with your supervisor for specific instructions to ensure you’re following the correct procedure. Rotate all casters into the correct direction for the move. The casters can be adjusted by hand unless the fixture is already loaded onto the skate, at that point you need to use the wheel steering tool. Doing this before lifting makes the process smoother and reduces strain. Proper preparation at this stage can prevent unnecessary complications later in the move.

When lifting, raise the fixture only as high as needed to clear the floor. It is highly advised you do not lift the fixture higher than ½ of an inch. Lifting it higher than necessary increases the risk of instability and injury. Always use proper lifting posture to protect yourself, and lift slowly and evenly across both sides.

Never place your hands under a fixture once it is lifted off the ground, even when attempting to move, reach, or make adjustments This creates a serious risk of injury.

Always prioritize safety and use proper tools and techniques when making adjustments, especially once it is lifted.
Final check

Before beginning any fixture move, it’s critical to prioritize safety by following a few key practices.
- Never place your hands under the skate at any time. Doing so puts you at serious risk of injury.
- Carefully inspect the floor along the entire move path to ensure it’s free from debris, cords, or other tripping hazards that could interfere with the mobilization.
- Make sure all merchandise is secure before proceeding.
- Any unstable items must be either removed or firmly secured to prevent shifting or falling during the move.
- Taking these precautions helps both you and your team while ensuring a smooth and efficient mobilization.

Throughout the lifting process, maintain clear communication with your team to ensure a safe, coordinated, and efficient lift.
